About Michel

I am a native Italian from Milan living in NYC where I am pursuing my acting and Italian language teaching careers. I have been tutoring Italian for more than 10 years and have logged over 13,000 tutoring hours. My goal is to assist students with the development and perfection of their Italian language skills. I am well versed in Italian culture , literature , architecture and the arts offering a well rounded approach to learning “la bella lingua”.
My method is a very successful combination of grammar, conversation, cultural tips, history, pronunciation, homework and fun.
Since I am a trained actor with no regional accent, my students benefit from hearing perfectly pronounced Italian during our sessions. I also create weekly personalized audio lessons for them together with written study guides in PDF format. In this way, students achieve their specific language goals in the shortest possible time. I also have a successful international track record in translation and extensive experience in pre-exam preparation for high-school and university students, supporting the syllabus followed in their classes. Whether you are interested in conversation exchange or clarification of grammar and structure, I make sure the process is warm, fun and lively! In addition to Italian being my mother tongue, my formal education in liberal arts and letters in Italy has given me a level of proficiency and sophistication with the language that very few teachers have. I am a very patient teacher and I like to make lessons entertaining and fun! This is how we learn best: when we are enjoying ourselves-- and what's not to enjoy with something as poetic, musical, and passionate as Italian? It would be an honour to help you perfect your listening/speaking skills so hopefully you can go visit Italy one day and truly experience the heart and depth of the culture by being able to communicate fully with Italians.
